PATAL PANI
The Waterfall is located 36 kms. from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. This magnificent fall is a popular picnic spot in Indore
district. The stream falls from an altitude of 150 fts into the kund. It is said that the bottom of this deep kund reaches Patal (netherworld), hence the name
was kept the Patal Pani. The Patal Pani is one of the popular excursions from Indore. The tourists travel 36 kilometers to watch the water of the Patal Pani waterfalls. The water
that accumulates in the Kund is sacred to the local people. The depth of the kund is still unknown. It is believed that the water travel down to a depth that reaches
'hell' which is referred to 'Patal' in hindi. The tourists may travel from Indore to
the Patal Pani in buses that ply in the region at regular intervals. The tourists may also avail hired cars that take the tourists from Indore to
the Patal Pani.
